I haven’t written one of these before but hopefully it hits the mark!

Heathrow Builders carried out a side extension on our bungalow in summer 2016 in Horsell, Surrey. The extension renovation included removing an old lean-to along the entire length of the house and the old concrete foundation / suspended floor.

John Mead and John Mead Senior did this professionally and quickly with minimal disruption. The bungalow is constructed of traditional surrey red brick and Heathrow Builders were able to find a cost-effective match to the existing and produced very good work, taking every effort to match details.

The side extension also involved removing sections of exterior walls and inserting double RSJ’s to accommodate the weight of a second story extension in the future. The result was a new area for the kitchen, a small utility room and an ensuite bathroom to an extended bedroom.

During the process they managed all the site inspections with our local authority without incident, following the latest building regulations.

John and his team are friendly, reliable and cleaned as they went – allowing us to live in whilst the work was being carried out. I consider them to be professional construction company with a thorough understanding of new regulations and construction methods

I’d like to say a big thank you to John and the team at Heathrow Builders for the truly incredible transformation they made of my house. The project was a ground floor extension to the back, kitchen relocation, downstairs cloakroom addition and refurb of what remained of the ground floor.

As with any project though, a few things had to be reviewed along the way. A combination of my additions, Johns suggestions, and my house (being late 1800’s Victorian) also had ideas of its own and threw in a few curve balls. We also had the covid lockdown to navigate and the problems that brought as it was relaxed - the availability of materials and their delivery and also that I had to remain in the property for the majority of the works. All of this made for tougher project than expected.

At every step of the way though communication was excellent, challenges were met with professionalism, enthusiasm and explanation of all options available. This allowed me to make informed decisions on how we should proceed to get everything resolved to keep us on track.

I was looking for a building company that i could trust to both manage and complete the project without the need for me find other trades along the way. I found this with Heathrow Builders, and would have no problem recommending them for any work that you might need in the future.

I have since had John and the team return to landscape my garden too which now also looks amazing

Heathrow Builders undertook a project for us to replace an existing garage with a new structure. This is the second time we have used their services. We approached them as we are confident of the high quality of their work and their reliability.

The building plan was to undertake a first-floor extension to my property which consisted of a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. I contracted Heathrow Builders having seen first hand their quality of build in the Windsor area.

My project in its entirety commenced in mid-October 18 and was completed in the first week of Jan 19, excluding Christmas period. All in all, completed to a high standard in relatively a short period of time, very impressed!

The salient points to note and why I would recommend Heathrow Builders are as follows;

All work was done in a timely manner, all jobs dovetailed smoothly with tradesmen such as plumbers, carpenters, electrician and plastered attending at relevant points of the build. A very slick and smooth operation planned well.
Quality of work is excellent and finished to a high standard, Heathrow Builders were very much conscious of quality of finish/build.
Heathrow Builders kept the build area clean and in organised manner. Damage to the drive area was minimised and protected by use of wooden sheets. At the conclusion of the build, the driveway and build area was cleared and cleaned with a power jet wash.
Dust sheets were used where appropriate to minimise disruption to interior of the house.
Quality of workmanship was accurate and of high quality standard. No adverse comments from the Building Inspector. All relevant build certificates and certificate of compliance granted.
In respect of the build, client's opinions and thoughts were considered, valued and taken on board ensuring customer satisfaction. The client was well briefed on weekly basis with planned work.
All members of the build team showed respect and consideration to all members of the family whilst alive to the fact there was an elderly disable person in the property.

I have had nothing but positive reviews from passers-by and those who have viewed the interior of the build. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Heathrow Builder again, we are certainly enjoying our new space.

We had been planning our single storey open plan extension for sometime but were hesitant to commence work until we had found a builder we felt we could fully trust.

We were recommended Heathrow Builders and from Johns first visit were very impressed by his open and helpful manner in discussing my requirements. John made a couple of site visits prior to providing a quotation and once we had the quotation he went through it in detail so we were fully aware of all of the options, payment schedules and any potential additional costs.

Once work commenced John and his team were extremely professional, friendly and hard working. We had no hesitation of leaving any of the team with keys to access the property when we were not around.

All of the trades that visited the property during the build were professional and would come recommended.

The loft has given us a huge bedroom/sitting room and an en suite shower room.

Heathrow Builders - an excellent group of tradesmen

John and the team at Heathrow Builders are by far the hardest working and best quality tradesmen I've ever worked with.

We did a full rip out and triple (two storey side, single rear and loft conversion) extension and the guys worked tireless to deliver on time and to budget. Any additional work we completely throughout was competitively priced.

I would without question work with HB again, and hope we have the opportunity to do so. They're busy though, so if you want to work with them you'll need to book in!

Single storey extension in Walton on thames

John( both Sr and Jr) and his team are fantastic. They built a side single storey extension which had a tricky roof layout which they got all done in around 6 weeks . Side, rear and first floor extension

I had Heathrow Builders build an extension for me and the project was completed on time and to a high standard. All the men were friendly and I was kept in the loop with what was going on all the time. I would definitely recommend Heathrow Builders.

Loft conversion in Windsor

Heathrow Builders undertook a loft conversion for us, starting in late July 2017 and finishing early in September. They were absolutely fantastic. John's extended team included all of the necessary specialists (joiner, electrician, plumber, tiler, roofers), all of whom proved friendly, reliable and high quality.

The work took six weeks, plus a week or so either side for the scaffolding to go up/down. We were very impressed by the speed and efficiency of the job. John kept us regularly updated with progress, so we knew what to expect and had time to make decisions (choice of tiles, location of electric sockets etc). John was very happy to do extra jobs (repainting the exterior, pointing brickwork).

The cost of the project compared favourably to other quotes we received, and we would not hesitate to use Heathrow Builders again or to recommend them. Our neighbours have engaged them for their own loft conversion!

Couldn't be happier

John and his team at Heathrow Builders Ltd began work on a single storey side extension at our property in October 2016. From the moment they arrived I knew John was in control of every aspect of the project. Dealing with building control as well as all Sub contracted work, plumbers, electricians and the like. All of whom were tradesmen John has worked closely with in the past. Arranging the schedule with military precision, planning out the weeks ahead so there was not a lull day throughout the entries build.

Being my first extension project I was a little nervous but all my worries and concerns were handled and addressed quickly, I was kept in the loop at all times; RSJs will be delivered on this day, skips this day

In all the work took six weeks, at least two less than quoted by all other companies.

Over all I could not be happier with the work carried out and would highly recommend Heathrow builders to anyone as well use them again myself.

House redevelopement

Heathrow Builders, were our choice of builder when we decided to undertake a large redevelopment of our family home and we did not regret it.

We extended into our loft and added a double ground floor extension, a 2nd floor on top of a previous side extension and a porch. Communication at all stages was excellent, the work was carried out promptly and site was always kept very tidy.

The company takes pride in the after care any minor snags on this large project have always been dealt with very efficiently and professionally, especially one minor snag that was a year after.

Single storey extension in Ashford

John and his team completed a single storey extension for us in March - May 2017. We highly reccomend them. John was incredibly helpful and walked us through any queries or issues as they arose. He worked closely with building control, advised us on the choices we had to make and provided sound solutions to challenges our extension presented! John and his team were professional, tidy and very considerate to our neighbours! They even helped ensure our cats could get in & out easily!!
